 KYOTO °

Population: 1.474 million

Kyoto is beautiful, it doesn’t have the tense build up of the city and hosts some incredible sights, flooded with temples, gardens and the famous Geisha district. When speaking to a few people in Tokyo, this repeatedly came up as one of their favourite spots.

EVERYTHING IS NEW WHEN YOUR LOOKING WITH A DIFFERENT OUTLOOK

ARASHIYAMA°

The attitude of the people here seems a lot more laid back. Although Kyoto respectfully hosts a lot of traditions of Japan, it also has a contemporary edge to make things very sufficient and easy. We spent most of our time hitting up temples and learning about Japanese culture.

This is the spot.

Temples, Monkeys, Bamboo Forest – what else could you ask for?

Jet lagged worked in our favour, arriving at the forrest at the crack of dawn it was almost empty, only the odd person every now and then.

I took advance of the perfect lighting,  the secluded forrest and setting up my camera then getting on to one knee, I asked my best friend, soul buddy and adventure goddess to marry me. :)

She said Yes!

I could feed you images of these places all day, the whole atmosphere was so different to what I'm used to, I highly recommend those of you thinking about going to Japan to do it, and take the time to see more then just Tokyo.

KINKAKU – JI°

I had no idea how much I would fall for Japan, but it seems I can’t get enough.

In part °3 , I venture further down Japan before heading back to the heart of it all – Tokyo – where I find some of my favourite spots in Japan and have a bizarre encounter.
