Jeff Koons up close
I always feel like the art’s there and I just see it, so it’s not really a lot of work.
Ever since watching a short documentary on the work of Jeff Koons on BBC, I had wanted to come face to face with his work and have a sober trip.
Damien Hirst’s Newport Street Gallery delivered on the idea, so thanks Damien.
Myself and Winslade hit the show up on press day, missing the two guys Koons and Hirst by a few hours, but hey ho, the work was still there.
Walking in your presented with the build up work of Koons career with the Hoover pieces, led life jacket and ad work before getting blinded by the shiny giant Ballon Monkey :O
Stunning. The mirror-polished stainless steel
looks so much like a ballon, its crazy, big fan. 🎈👌🏼
I realised that you couldn’t use the tools of yesterday to communicate today’s world. Basically, that was the big light that went on in my head.
Till next time
